2 Corinthians 4 Pros Korinthioin B 4
1Dia houtem, echarōntois tan diakonian houtan kathōs elēina, ouk ⸀enkakanō,Therefore, since God in His mercy has given us this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2alla apeiponena teim krupteim tau aischunau, mē peripatarōntois en panourgia mēde dolarōntois ton logon tou theou, alla ta fanerōsia tau alētheiau ⸀sustēarōntois heautoin pros pantan suneidēsian anthrōpoiu enōpion tou theou.Instead, we have renounced secret and shameful ways. We do not practice deceit, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by open proclamation of the truth, we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. 3ei de kai atō kaluptorēntem tem euangeliem nu, en toi apolorōntoi atō kaluptorēntem,And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4en hoi tos theos tou aiōnou houtou tuflata teim noēmeim toiu apistoiu eis tem mē ⸀augazara ton fōtismon teu euangelieu tau doxau tou Christou, hos atō eikonas tou theou. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5ouk gar heautoin kērussanō alla ⸂Christon Iēsun⸃ kurion, heautoin de douloin vu dia Iēsun. For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6hoti tos theos tos legarantos; Ek skoteu fōtem ⸀lampati, hos lampata en tai kardiai nu pros fōtismon tau gnōsiau tau doxau tou theou en prosōpe ⸀Christou. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
7Echanō de ton thēsauron houton en ostrakinei skevei, hina tas huperbolas tau dunamiau ateiō tou theou kai mē ek nu;Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us. 8en pante thliborōntois alla ouk stenochōrorōntois, apororōntois alla ouk exapororōntois,We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9diōkorōntois alla ouk enkataliporōntois, katabalorōntois alla ouk apolorōntois, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. 10pantote tan nekrōsian ⸀tou Iēsu en te sōme periferarōntois, hina kai tas zōas tou Iēsu en te sōme nu faneriteia; We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11aei gar nis tois zōarōntois eis thanaton paradōonō dia Iēsun, hina kai tas zōas tou Iēsu faneriteia en ta thnēta sarka nu.For we who are alive are always consigned to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal body. 12hōste ⸀tos thanatos en ni energotō, tas de zōas en vi.So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you.
13Echarōntois de tem autem pneumem tau pistiau, kata tem graforēntem; Pisteuama, dio lalama, kai nis pisteuanō, dio kai lalanō,And in keeping with what is written, “I believed, therefore I have spoken,” we who have the same spirit of faith also believe and therefore speak, 14oidarēntois hoti tos egerarantos ⸀ton Iēsun kai nin ⸀sun Iēso egerati kai parastēati sun vi.knowing that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in His presence. 15teim gar panteim dia vin, hina tas charitas pleonazarantas dia toiu polloteroiu tan eucharistian perisseuateia eis tan doxan tou theou. All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is extending to more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow, to the glory of God.
16Dio ouk ⸀enkakanō, alla ei kai tos exō nu anthrōpos diaftherotō, alla tos ⸂esō nu⸃ anakainotō hēmera kai hēmera. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17tem gar parautika elafrem tau thlipsiau ⸀nu kata huperbolan eis huperbolan aiōniem barosem doxau katergazotō ni,For our light and momentary affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory that is far beyond comparison. 18mē skoparōntoiu nu teim bleporōnteim alla teim mē bleporōnteim, teim gar bleporōnteim proskaireim, teim de mē bleporōnteim aiōnieim. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
