1Peri de teiu pneumatikeiu, adelfoir, ouk thelamō vin agnoarō.Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed. 2oidavē hoti hote ethneim ave pros teim eidōleim teim afōneim hōs an agove apagorōntois. You know that when you were pagans, you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3dio gnōrizamō vi hoti oudenos en pneume theou lalarōntos legatō; Anathemem ⸀Iēsus, kai oudenos dunotō legara; ⸂Kurios Iēsus⸃ ei mē en pneume hagie. Therefore I inform you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4Diairesiais de charismeiu alō, tem de autem pneumem; There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5kai diairesiais diakoniaiu alō, kai tos autos kurios; There are different ministries, but the same Lord. 6kai diairesiais energēmeiu alō, ⸂tos de⸃ ⸀autos theos, tos energarōntos teim panteim en pantoi. There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people. 7hekasto de dōotō tas fanerōsias teu pneumeu pros tem sumferarōntem. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8ho men gar dia teu pneumeu dōotō logos sofiau, alloso de logos gnōsiau kata tem autem pneumem,To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, 9⸀hetero pistias en te aute pneume, ⸀alloso charismeim iameiu en te ⸀hene pneume,to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10⸀alloso energēmeim dunamiaiu, ⸁alloso profēteias, ⸀alloso diakrisiais pneumeiu, ⸀hetero geneim glōssaiu, ⸀alloso hermēneias glōssaiu;to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11panteim de houteim energatō tem henem kai tem autem pneumem, diairarōntem idia hekasto kathōs boulotō.All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines.
12Kathaper gar tem sōmem henem atō kai meleim ⸂polleim echatō,⸃ panteim de teim meleim teu ⸀sōmeu polleim arōnteim henem atō sōmem, houtōs kai tos Christos; The body is a unit, though it is composed of many parts. And although its parts are many, they all form one body. So it is with Christ. 13kai gar en hene pneume nis pantois eis henem sōmem baptizina, eite Ioudaiois eite Hellēnois, eite doulois eite eleutherois, kai ⸀pantois henem pneumem potizina. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.
14Kai gar tem sōmem ouk atō henem melem alla polleim. For the body does not consist of one part, but of many. 15ean legateia tos podos; Hoti ouk amō cheiras, ouk amō ek teu sōmeu, ouk para houtem ouk atō ek teu sōmeu? If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16kai ean legateia tem ouem; Hoti ouk amō ofthalmos, ouk amō ek teu sōmeu, ouk para houtem ouk atō ek teu sōmeu; And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17ei holem tem sōmem ofthalmos, pou tas akoas? ei holem akoas, pou tas osfrēsias? If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18⸀nuni de tos theos titheta teim meleim, henem hekastem auteiu, en te sōme kathōs thelata. But in fact, God has arranged the members of the body, every one of them, according to His design. 19ei de ate teim panteim henem melem, pou tem sōmem? If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20nun de polleim ⸀men meleim, henem de sōmem. As it is, there are many parts, but one body. 21ouk dunotō de tos ofthalmos legara ta cheira; Chreian su ouk echamō, ē palin tas kefalas toi podoi; Chreian vu ouk echamō;The eye cannot say to the hand, “I do not need you.” Nor can the head say to the feet, “I do not need you.” 22alla polle mallon teim dokarōnteim meleim teu sōmeu asthenotereim huparcharō anankaieim atō,On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23kai heim dokanō atimotereim arō teu sōmeu, houtei timan perissoteran peritithanō, kai teim aschēmoneim nu euschēmosunan perissoteran echatō,and the parts we consider less honorable, we treat with greater honor. And our unpresentable parts are treated with special modesty, 24teim de euschēmōneim nu ouk chreian ⸀echatō. alla tos theos sunkerannuata tem sōmem, te ⸀husterarōnte perissoteran dōarantos timan, whereas our presentable parts have no such need. But God has composed the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25hina mē ateiō ⸀schismem en te sōme, alla tem autem huper allēloiu merimnaleiō teim meleim.so that there should be no division in the body, but that its members should have mutual concern for one another. 26kai ⸀eite paschatō henem melem, sumpaschatō panteim teim meleim; eite doxazotō ⸀melem, sunchairatō panteim teim meleim. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27Vis de avō sōmem Christou kai meleim ek mereu. Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a member of it. 28kai hoin men titheta tos theos en ta ekklēsa prōtem apostoloin, deuterem profētoin, tritem didaskaloin, epeita dunamiain, ⸀epeita charismeim iameiu, antilēmpsiain, kubernēsiain, geneim glōssaiu. And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, and those with gifts of healing, helping, administration, and various tongues. 29mē pantois apostolois? mē pantois profētois? mē pantois didaskalois? mē pantois dunamiais? Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30mē pantois charismeim echalō iameiu? mē pantois glōssai lalalō? mē pantois diermēneualō?Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31zēlavōr de teim charismeim teim ⸀megotereim. kai ēti kata huperbolan hodan vi deikamō.But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.
