1 Corinthians 11 Pros Korinthioin A 11
2Epainamō de ⸀vin hoti panteim mu mimnēskovē kai kathōs paradōama vi tain paradosiain katechavō.Now I commend you for remembering me in everything and for maintaining the traditions, just as I passed them on to you. 3thelamō de vin oidarē hoti pantou androu tas kefalas tos Christos atō, kefalas de gunaikau tos andros, kefalas de ⸀tou Christou tos theos. But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4pantos andros proseuchorōntos ē profēteuarōntos kata kefalau echarōntos kataischunatō tan kefalan autou;Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5pantas de gunaikas proseuchorōntas ē profēteuarōntas akatakalupta ta kefala kataischunatō tan kefalan ⸀autau, henem gar atō kai tem autem ta xurorēnta. And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved. 6ei gar ouk katakaluptotō gunaikas, kai keiretar; ei de aischrem gunaika tem keirera ē xurera, katakaluptotōr.If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. 7andros men gar ouk ofeilatō katakaluptorō tan kefalan, eikonas kai doxas theou huparcharōntos; ⸀tas gunaikas de doxas androu atō.A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 8ouk gar atō andros ek gunaikau, alla gunaikas ek androu; For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. 9kai gar ouk ktizita andros dia tan gunaikan, alla gunaikas dia ton andron.Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10dia houtem ofeilatō tas gunaikas exousian echarō epi tau kefalau dia toin angeloin. For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels. 11plēn oute ⸂gunaikas chōris androu oute andros chōris gunaikau⸃ en kurio; In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12hōsper gar tas gunaikas ek tou androu, houtōs kai tos andros dia tau gunaikau; teim de panteim ek tou theou. For just as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. 13en vi autoi krinavar; preparōntem atō gunaikan akatakaluptan to theo proseuchorō?Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14⸀oude ⸂tas fusias autas⸃ didaskatō vin hoti andros men ean komateiō, atimias auto atō,Doesn’t nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15gunaikas de ean komateiō, doxas auta atō? hoti tas komas anti peribolaieu ⸀dōotē.but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16ei de tinos dokatō filoneikos arō, nis toioutan sunētheian ouk echanō, oude tais ekklēsais tou theou. If anyone is inclined to dispute this, we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God.
17Houtem de ⸂parangelarōntos ouk epainamō⸃ hoti ouk eis tem kreittonem alla eis tem hēssōnem sunerchovō.In the following instructions I have no praise to offer, because your gatherings do more harm than good. 18prōtem men gar sunerchorōntoiu vu en ekklēsa akouamō schismeim en vi huparcharō, kai merem tinem pisteuamō.First of all, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19datō gar kai hairesiain en vi arō, hina ⸀kai tois dokimois fanerois geneleia en vi.And indeed, there must be differences among you to show which of you are approved. 20sunerchorōntoiu oun vu epi tem autem ouk atō kuriakem deipnem esthiara,Now then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat. 21hekastos gar tem idiem deipnem prolabatō en te esthiara, kai hos men peinatō, hos de methuatō.For as you eat, each of you goes ahead without sharing his meal. While one remains hungry, another gets drunk. 22mē gar oikiain ouk echavō eis tem esthiarō kai pinarō? ē tau ekklēsau tou theou katafronavō, kai kataischunavō toin mē echarōntoin? tinem ⸂legameia vi?⸃ epainameia vin? en houte ouk epainamō.Don’t you have your own homes in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What can I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? No, I will not!
23Mis gar paralabama apo tou kuriou, hem kai paradōama vi, hoti tos kurios Iēsus en ta nukta ha ⸀paradōote labata artonFor I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, 24kai eucharistarantos klata kai ⸀legata; Houtem mu atō tem sōmem tem huper ⸀vu; houtem poiavōr eis tan ēman anamnēsian.and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25hōsautōs kai tem potēriem meta tem deipnara, legarōntos; Houtem tem potēriem tas kainas diathēkas atō en te ēme haime; houtem poiavōr, hosakis ⸀ean pinaveiō, eis tan ēman anamnēsian. In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 26hosakis gar ⸀ean esthiaveiō ton arton houton kai tem ⸀potēriem pinaveiō, ton thanaton tou kuriou katangelavō, achri ⸀hou erchateia. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
27Hōste hos an esthiateiō ton ⸀arton ē pinateiō tem potēriem tou kuriou ⸀anaxiōs, enochos eti teu sōmeu kai teu haimeu tou kuriou. Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28dokimazatōr de anthrōpos heauton, kai houtōs ek tou artou esthiatōr kai ek teu potērieu pinatōr;Each one must examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29tos gar esthiarōntos kai ⸀pinarōntos krimem heauto esthiatō kai pinatō mē diakrinarōntos tem ⸀sōmem. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. 30dia houtem en vi pollois asthenois kai arrōstois kai koimolō hikanois. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31ei ⸀de heautoin diakrinane, ouk an krinone; Now if we judged ourselves properly, we would not come under judgment. 32krinorōntois de ⸀hupo kuriou paideuonō, hina mē sun to kosmo katakrinineia. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
33Hōste, adelfoir mu, sunerchorōntois eis tem esthiara allēloin ekdechovōr.So, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. 34⸀ei tinos peinatō, en oiko esthiatōr, hina mē eis krimem sunerchoveiō. Teim de loipeim hōs an erchameia diatassemi. If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you come together it will not result in judgment. And when I come, I will give instructions about the remaining matters.
