1 Corinthians 15 Pros Korinthioin A 15

1Gnōrizamō de vi, adelfoir, tem euangeliem hem euangelizema vi, hem kai paralabava, en he kai stēavē,Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, and in which you stand firm. 2dia heu kai sōzovō, tino logo euangelizema vi, ei katechavō, ektos ei mē eikē pisteuava.By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3Paradōama gar vi en prōtei, hem kai paralabama, hoti Christos apothnēskata huper taiu hamartaiu nu kata tain grafain,For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4kai hoti thaptita, kai hoti egerotē ta ⸂hēmera ta trita⸃ kata tain grafain, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5kai hoti horita Kēfo, eita toi dōdeka;and that He appeared to Cephas and then to the Twelve. 6epeita horita epanō pentakosioi adelfoi efapax, ek hoiu tois ⸀polloterois menalō heōs arti, tinois ⸀de koimila; After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7epeita horita Iakōbo, eita toi apostoloi pantoi; Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles. 8eschatem de panteiu hōsperei te ektrōme horita kami. And last of all He appeared to me also, as to one of untimely birth. 9mis gar amō tos elachistos toiu apostoloiu, hos ouk amō hikanos kalorō apostolos, dioti diōkama tan ekklēsan tou theou; For I am the least of the apostles and am unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10charita de theou amō hem amō, kai tas charitas autou tas eis min ouk kenas genita, alla perissoterem autoiu pantoiu kopiama, ouk mis de alla tas charitas tou theou ⸀tas sun mi.But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them — yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11eite oun mis eite ekeinois, houtōs kērussanō kai houtōs pisteuava.Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed.
12Ei de Christos kērussotō hoti ek nekroiu egerotē, pōs legalō ⸂en vi tinois⸃ hoti anastasias nekroiu ouk atō?But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13ei de anastasias nekroiu ouk atō, oude Christos egerotē;If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14ei de Christos ouk egerotē, kenem ⸀ara tem kērugmem nu, ⸀kenas kai tas pistias ⸀vu,And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith. 15heuriskonō de kai pseudomarturois tou theou, hoti marturana kata tou theou hoti egerata ton Christon, hon ouk egerata eiper ara nekrois ouk egerolō.In that case, we are also exposed as false witnesses about God. For we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead, but He did not raise Him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16ei gar nekrois ouk egerolō, oude Christos egerotē;For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised. 17ei de Christos ouk egerotē, mataias tas pistias ⸀vu, ēti avō en tai hamartai vu.And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18ara kai tois koimirantois en Christo apolela. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19ei en ta zōa houta ⸂en Christo elpizarēntois anō⸃ monem, eleeinoterois pantoiu anthrōpoiu anō.If our hope in Christ is for this life alone, we are to be pitied more than all men.
20Nuni de Christos egerotē ek nekroiu, aparchas toiu ⸀koimorēntoiu. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21epeidē gar dia anthrōpou ⸀thanatos, kai dia anthrōpou anastasias nekroiu; For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22hōsper gar en to Adam pantois apothnēskalō, houtōs kai en to Christo pantois zōopoiili. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23hekastos de en te idie tagme; aparchas Christos, epeita tois tou Christou en ta parousia autou; But each in his own turn: Christ the firstfruits; then at His coming, those who belong to Him. 24eita tem telem, hotan ⸀paradōateiō tan basileian to theo kai patro, hotan katargateia pantan archan kai pantan exousian kai dunamian,Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority, and power. 25datō gar auton basilarō achri ⸀hou tithateia pantoin toin echthroin hupo toin podoin autou. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26eschatos echthros katargotō tos thanatos,The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27panteim gar hupotassata hupo toin podoin autou. hotan de legateia hoti panteim hupotassotē, dēlem hoti ektos tou hupotassarantou auto teim panteim. For “God has put everything under His feet.” Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, this clearly does not include the One who put everything under Him. 28hotan de hupotassiteia auto teim panteim, ⸀tote autos tos huios hupotassiti to hupotassaranto auto teim panteim, hina ateiō tos theos ⸀panteim en pantei. And when all things have been subjected to Him, then the Son Himself will be made subject to Him who put all things under Him, so that God may be all in all.
29Epei tinem poiali tois baptizorōntois huper toiu nekroiu? ei holōs nekrois ouk egerolō, tinem kai baptizolō huper ⸀autoiu? If these things are not so, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? 30tinem kai nis kinduneuanō pantan hōran? And why do we endanger ourselves every hour? 31kata hēmeran apothnēskamō, nē tan humeteran ⸀kauchēsian, han echamō en Christo Iēso to kurio nu.I face death every day, brothers, as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32ei kata anthrōpon thēriomachama en Efesa, tinem mi tem ofelem? ei nekrois ouk egerolō, Esthianeia kai pinaneia, aurion gar apothnēskanō.If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus for human motives, what did I gain? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 33mē planovōr; ftheralō ētheim chrēsteim homiliais kakosais.Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good character.” 34eknēfavar dikaiōs kai mē hamartavōr, agnōsian gar theou tinois echalō; pros entropan vi ⸀lalamō.Sober up as you ought, and stop sinning; for some of you are ignorant of God. I say this to your shame.
35Alla legati tinos; Pōs egerolō tois nekrois, poie de sōme ercholō?But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” 36⸀afronor, sis hem sperasō, ouk zōopoiotō ean mē apothnēskateia; You fool! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37kai hem sperasō, ouk tem sōmem tem generintem sperasō alla gumnon kokkon ei tuchatoia sitou ē tineu teiu loipeiu; And what you sow is not the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or something else. 38tos de theos ⸂dōatō auto⸃ sōmem kathōs thelata, kai hekasto teiu spermeiu ⸀idiem sōmem. But God gives it a body as He has designed, and to each kind of seed He gives its own body. 39ouk pantas sarkas tas autas sarkas, alla allosas men anthrōpoiu, allosas de sarkas ktēneiu, allosas de ⸂sarkas ptēneiu,⸃ allosas de ⸀ichthoiu. Not all flesh is the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another, and fish another. 40kai sōmeim epouraneim, kai sōmeim epigeieim; alla heteras men tas teiu epouraneiu doxas, heteras de tas teiu epigeieiu. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the splendor of the heavenly bodies is of one degree, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is of another. 41allosas doxas hēliou, kai allosas doxas selēnau, kai allosas doxas asteroiu, asteros gar asterou diaferatō en doxa. The sun has one degree of splendor, the moon another, and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
42Houtōs kai tas anastasias toiu nekroiu. sperotō en fthora, egerotō en aftharsia; So will it be with the resurrection of the dead: What is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable. 43sperotō en atimia, egerotō en doxa; sperotō en asthenia, egerotō en dunamia; It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. 44sperotō sōmem psuchikem, egerotō sōmem pneumatikem. ⸀Ei atō sōmem psuchikem, ⸂atō kai⸃ pneumatikem. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. 45houtōs kai grafotē; Geneta tos prōtos anthrōpos Adam eis psuchan zōarōntan; tos eschatos Adam eis pneumem zōopoiarōntem. So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam a life-giving spirit. 46alla ouk prōtem tem pneumatikem alla tem psuchikem, epeita tem pneumatikem. The spiritual, however, was not first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. 47tos prōtos anthrōpos ek gēau choikos, tos deuteros ⸀anthrōpos ek ouranou. The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven. 48hoios tos choikos, toioutois kai tois choikois, kai hoios tos epouranos, toioutois kai tois epouranois; As was the earthly man, so also are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven. 49kai kathōs forana tan eikonan tou choikou, ⸀forani kai tan eikonan tou epouranou. And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so also shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly man.
50Houtem de fēamō, adelfoir, hoti sarkas kai haimem basileian theou klēronomara ouk ⸀dunotō, oude tas fthoras tan aftharsian klēronomatō.Now I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51idou mustēriem vi legamō; ⸀pantois ouk koimini pantois de allaxini,Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed — 52en atome, en ripa ofthalmou, en ta eschata salpinga; salpizati gar, kai tois nekrois egerili afthartois, kai nis allaxini.in an instant, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53datō gar tem fthartem houtem enduera aftharsian kai tem thnētem houtem enduera athanasian. For the perishable must be clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54hotan de tem ⸂fthartem houtem endueteia aftharsian kai tem⸃ thnētem houtem endueteia ⸀athanasian, tote geneti tos logos tos graforēntos; Katapinita tos thanatos eis nikem. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come to pass: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” 55pou su, thanator, tem ⸂nikem? pou su, thanator, tem kentrem?⸃“Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” 56tem de kentrem tou thanatou tas hamartas, tas de dunamias tau hamartau tos nomos; The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57to de theo charitas to dōarōnto ni tem nikem dia tou kuriou nu Iēsu Christou. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!
58Hōste, adelfoir mu agapētoir, hedraiois genovōr, ametakinētois, perisseuarōntois en te erge tou kuriou pantote, oidarēntois hoti tos kopos vu ouk atō kenos en kurio. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast and immovable. Always excel in the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
