Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. 5mis amō tas ampelas, vis teim klēmeim. tos menarōntos en mi kamis en auto houtos feratō karpon pollon, hoti chōris mu ouk dunovō poiarō oudenem.I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing. 6ean mē tinos ⸀menateiō en mi, balita exō hōs tem klēmem kai xēranita, kai sunagalō auteim kai eis tem purem balalō kai kaiotō.If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7ean menaveia en mi kai teim rēmeim mu en vi menateia, hem ean thelaveiō ⸀aitevar kai geneti vi;If you remain in Me and My words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8en houte doxazita tos patros mu hina karpon pollon feraveiō kai ⸀geneveia ēmois mathētois.This is to My Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, proving yourselves to be My disciples. 9kathōs agapata min tos patros, kamis ⸂vin agapama,⸃ menavar en ta agapa ta ēma.As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Remain in My love. 10ean tain entolain mu tēraveia, menavi en ta agapa mu, kathōs mis ⸂tain entolain tou patrou mu⸃ tēramē kai menamō autou en ta agapa.If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. 11houteim lalamē vi hina tas charas tas ēmas en vi ⸀ateiō kai tas charas vu plēriteia.I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
12Houtas atō tas entolas tas ēmas hina agapaveiō allēloin kathōs agapama vin;This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13megoteran houtau agapan oudenos echatō, hina tinos tan psuchan autou tithateia huper toiu filoiu autou.Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14vis filois mu avō ean poiaveiō ⸀heim mis entelomō vi.You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15ouketi ⸂legamō vin⸃ douloin, hoti tos doulos ouk oidatē tinem poiatō autou tos kurios; vin de legamē filoin, hoti panteim heim akouama para tou patrou mu gnōrizama vi.No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not understand what his master is doing. 18Ei tos kosmos vin misatō, gnōskavō hoti min prōtem ⸀vu misatē.If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. 19ei ek tou kosmou ave, tos kosmos an tem idiem filate; hoti de ek tou kosmou ouk avō, alla mis eklegema vin ek tou kosmou, dia houtem misatō vin tos kosmos.If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. 20mnēmoneuavōr tou logou hou mis legama vi; Ouk atō doulos megoteros tou kuriou autou; ei min diōkala, kai vin diōkali; ei ton logon mu tērala, kai ton humeteron tērali.Remember the word that I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well; if they kept My word, they will keep yours as well. 21alla houteim panteim poiali ⸂eis vin⸃ dia tem onomem mu, hoti ouk oidalē ton pemparanton min.But they will treat you like this because of My name, since they do not know the One who sent Me. 22ei mē erchama kai lalama autoi, hamartan ouk ⸀echale; nun de profasian ouk echalō peri tau hamartau autoiu.If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23tos min misarōntos kai ton patron mu misatō.Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well. 24ei teim ergeim mē poiama en autoi heim oudenos allosos ⸀poiata, hamartan ouk ⸀echale; nun de kai horalē kai misalē kai min kai ton patron mu.If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have seen and hated both Me and My Father. 25alla hina plēriteia tos logos tos ⸂en to nomo autoiu graforēntos⸃ hoti Misala min dōreōs.But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated Me without reason.’
