Galatians 3 Pros Galatoin 3
1Ō anoētoir Galatoir, tinos vin ⸀baskanata, hoi kata ofthalmoin Iēsus Christos ⸀prografita staurorēntos?O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2houtem monem thelamō mathara apo vu, ek ergeiu nomou tem pneumem labava ē ek akoau pistiau?I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith? 3houtōs anoētois avō? enarcherantois pneume nun sarka epitelovō?Are you so foolish? After starting in the Spirit, are you now finishing in the flesh? 4tosouteim paschava eikē? ei ge kai eikē.Have you suffered so much for nothing, if it really was for nothing? 5tos oun epichorēgarōntos vi tem pneumem kai energarōntos dunamiain en vi ek ergeiu nomou ē ek akoau pistiau?Does God lavish His Spirit on you and work miracles among you because you practice the law, or because you hear and believe? 6kathōs Abraam pisteuata to theo, kai logizita auto eis dikaiosunan. So also, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 7Gnōskavōr ara hoti tois ek pistiau, houtois ⸂huiois alō⸃ Abraam.Understand, then, that those who have faith are sons of Abraham. 8proorarantas de tas grafas hoti ek pistiau dikaiatō teim ethneim tos theos proeuangelizeta to Abraam hoti Eneulogili en si panteim teim ethneim. The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and foretold the gospel to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9hōste tois ek pistiau eulogolō sun to pisto Abraam. So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. 10Hosois gar ek ergeiu nomou alō hupo kataran alō, grafotē gar ⸀hoti Epikataratos pantos hos ouk ⸀emmenatō pantei tei graforēntei en te biblie tou nomou teu poiara auteim. All who rely on works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” 11hoti de en nomo oudenos dikaiotō para to theo dēlem, hoti Tos dikaios ek pistiau zōeti,Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.” 12tos de nomos ouk atō ek pistiau, alla; Tos poiarantos ⸀auteim zōeti en autei. The law, however, is not based on faith; on the contrary, “The man who does these things will live by them.” 13Christos nin exagorazata ek tau katarau tou nomou generantos huper nu kataras, ⸂hoti grafotē;⸃ Epikataratos pantos tos kremannuerantos epi xuleu,Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.” 14hina eis teim ethneim tas eulogias tou Abraam geneteia en ⸂Christo Iēso,⸃ hina tan epangelian teu pneumeu labaneia dia tau pistiau. He redeemed us in order that the blessing promised to Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. 15Adelfoir, kata anthrōpon legamō; homōs anthrōpou kurorēntan diathēkan oudenos athetatō ē epidiatassotō.Brothers, let me put this in human terms. Even a human covenant, once it is ratified, cannot be canceled or amended. 16to de Abraam legila tais epangeliais kai te sperme autou; ouk legatō; Kai tei spermei, hōs epi polleiu, alla hōs epi heneu; Kai te sperme su, hos atō Christos. The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. The Scripture does not say, “and to seeds,” meaning many, but “and to your seed,” meaning One, who is Christ. 17houtem de legamō; diathēkan prokurorēntan hupo tou ⸀theou tos meta ⸂tetrakosioi kai triakonta eteim⸃ genarēntos nomos ouk akuratō, eis tem katargara tan epangelian. What I mean is this: The law that came 430 years later does not revoke the covenant previously established by God, so as to nullify the promise. 18ei gar ek nomou tas klēronomias, ouketi ek epangeliau; to de Abraam dia epangeliau charizotē tos theos. For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on a promise; but God freely granted it to Abraham through a promise. 19Tinem oun tos nomos? taiu parabasiaiu charin prostithita, achris ⸀hou erchateia tem spermem he epangelotē, diatassirantos dia angeloiu en cheira mesitou; Why then was the law given? It was added because of transgressions, until the arrival of the seed to whom the promise referred. It was administered through angels by a mediator. 20tos de mesitos henou ouk atō, tos de theos henos atō.A mediator is unnecessary, however, for only one party; but God is one. 21Tos oun nomos kata taiu epangeliaiu tou theou? mē genetoia; ei gar dōita nomos tos dunorōntos zōopoiara, ontōs ⸂ek nomou an⸃ ate tas dikaiosunas. Is the law, then, opposed to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come from the law. 22alla sunkleiata tas grafas teim panteim hupo hamartan hina tas epangelias ek pistiau Iēsu Christou dōiteia toi pisteuarōntoi. But the Scripture pronounces all things confined by sin, so that by faith in Jesus Christ the promise might be given to those who believe. 23Pro teu de erchara tan pistian hupo nomon frourone ⸀sunkleiorōntois eis tan mellarōntan pistian apokaluptira. Before this faith came, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until faith should be revealed. 24hōste tos nomos paidagōgos nu genatē eis Christon, hina ek pistiau dikaiineia; So the law became our guardian to lead us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25ercharantau de tau pistiau ouketi hupo paidagōgon anō.Now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. 26pantois gar huiois theou avō dia tau pistiau en Christo Iēso.You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27hosois gar eis Christon baptiziva, Christon endueva; For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28ouk eniatō Ioudaios oude Hellēnos, ouk eniatō doulos oude eleutheros, ouk eniatō arsenem kai thēluem; ⸀pantois gar vis henos avō en Christo Iēso.There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29ei de vis Christou, ara tou Abraam spermem avō, ⸀kata epangelian klēronomois. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.
