Prosechavōr ⸀de tan ⸀dikaiosunan vu mē poiarō emprosthen toiu anthrōpoiu pros tem theasira autoi; ei de mē ge, misthon ouk echavō para to patro vu to en toi ouranoi.“Be careful not to perform your righteous acts before men to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
Hotan oun poiaseiō eleēmosunan, mē salpizaseia emprosthen su, hōsper tois hupokritois poialō en tai sunagōgai kai en tai rumai, hopōs doxazileia hupo toiu anthrōpoiu; amēn legamō vi, apechalō ton misthon autoiu. So when you give to the needy, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. 3su de poiarōntou eleēmosunan mē gnōskatar tas aristeras su tinem poiatō tas dexas su,But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4hopōs ateiō su tas eleēmosunas en te krupte; kai tos patros su tos bleparōntos en te ⸀krupte apodōati ⸀si.so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Kai hotan ⸂proseuchoveiō, ouk evi hōs⸃ tois hupokritois; hoti filalō en tai sunagōgai kai en tai gōniai taiu platuaiu stēarēntois proseuchorō, ⸀hopōs fanileia toi anthrōpoi; amēn legamō ⸀vi, apechalō ton misthon autoiu. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. 6sis de hotan proseuchoseiō, eiserchasar eis tem tameiem su kai kleiarantos tan thuran su proseuchesar to patro su to en te krupte; kai tos patros su tos bleparōntos en te krupte apodōati ⸀si.But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Proseuchorōntois de mē battalogaveia hōsper tois ethnikois, dokalō gar hoti en ta polulogia autoiu eisakouili; And when you pray, do not babble on like pagans, for they think that by their many words they will be heard. 8mē oun homoiiveia autoi, oidatē gar ⸀tos patros vu heiu chreian echavō pro teu vin aitara auton.Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
Houtōs oun proseuchovōr vis; Patror nu tos en toi ouranoi; hagiazitar tem onomem su,So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. 10erchatar tas basileias su, genitar tem thelēmem su, hōs en ourano kai ⸀epi gēau;Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11ton arton nu ton epiousion dōasar ni sēmeron;Give us this day our daily bread. 12kai afiēkasar ni teim ofeilēmeim nu, hōs kai nis ⸀afiēkana toi ofeiletoi nu;And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13kai mē eisferaseia nin eis peirasmon, alla ruesar nin apo teu ⸀ponēreu. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14ean gar afiēkaveia toi anthrōpoi teim paraptōmeim autoiu, afiēkati kai vi tos patros vu tos ouranios; For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15ean de mē afiēkaveia toi ⸀anthrōpoi, oude tos patros vu afiēkati teim paraptōmeim vu.But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.
Hotan de nēsteuaveiō, mē genovōr ⸀hōs tois hupokritois skuthrōpois, afanizalō gar teim prosōpeim autoiu hopōs fanileia toi anthrōpoi nēsteuarōntois; amēn legamō ⸀vi, apechalō ton misthon autoiu. When you fast, do not be somber like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces to show men they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. 17sis de nēsteuarōntos aleifesar su tan kefalan kai tem prosōpem su niptesar,But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18hopōs mē faniseia toi anthrōpoi nēsteuarōntos alla to patro su to en te ⸀krufaie; kai tos patros su tos bleparōntos en te ⸁krufaie apodōati si.so that your fasting will not be obvious to men, but only to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Mē thēsaurizavōr vi thēsauroin epi tau gēau, hopou sētos kai brōsias afanizatō, kai hopou kleptois diorussalō kai kleptalō;Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20thēsaurizavōr de vi thēsauroin en ourano, hopou oute sētos oute brōsias afanizatō, kai hopou kleptois ouk diorussalō oude kleptalō;But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21hopou gar atō tos thēsauros ⸀su, ekei eti kai tas kardias ⸁su.For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Oudenos dunotō duo kurioi douleuarō; ē gar ton henon misati kai ton heteron agapati, ē henou antecheti kai tou heterou katafronati. ouk dunovō theo douleuarō kai mamōno.No one can serve two masters: Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Consider how the lilies of the field grow: They do not labor or spin. 29legamō de vi hoti oude Solomōnos en panta ta doxa autou peribaleta hōs henem houteiu.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was adorned like one of these. 30ei de ton chorton tou agrou sēmeron arōnton kai aurion eis klibanon balorōnton tos theos houtōs amfiennuatō, ouk polle mallon vin, oligopistoir? If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31mē oun merimnaveia legarōntois; Tinem esthianeia? ē; Tinem pinaneia? ē; Tinem peribaleneia? Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32panteim gar houteim teim ethneim ⸀epizētalō; oidatē gar tos patros vu tos ouranios hoti chrēzavō houteiu hapanteiu. For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33zētavōr de prōtem tan ⸀basileian kai tan dikaiosunan autou, kai houteim panteim prostithiti vi.But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. 34mē oun merimnaveia eis tan aurion, tas gar aurion merimnati ⸀heautau; arketem ta hēmera tas kakias autau. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.[’’]
